Windows 10x |
Windows 10X is not designed to be a replacement for Windows 10. Microsoft notes, though, that it won't be possible to upgrade from Windows 10 to 10X.
Microsoft's Windows 10X operating system, originally planned for dual-screen devices, might not appear until 2021. ... ZDNet reports that single-screen devices running Windows 10X, designed for education and business use, are expected to arrive in spring 2021.
Windows 10X will be available on dual-screen and foldable devices starting in the fall of 2020, in time for the holiday season. These will include both Microsoft Surface and devices from several Windows ecosystem partners including ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo.
It's called Windows 10X, and it is the operating system that will power dual-screen laptops and folding PCs. The operating system, which was codenamed Santorini internally, is based on the little-spoken of Windows Core OS.
